I'm looking to buy a toyota pickup truck in the Chicago area.?
Upon what price range do you think I would be looking at? What I'm interested in are the following...
1. 1999 or newer
2. less than 120,000 miles
3. extended cab
4. CD Player
5. Power windows and locks
6. 4x4
7. 4 or 6 cylinder engine.
What else should I look out for? My knowledge of buying/selling or searching automobiles really isn't my forte, so I need some help.

You do NOT want a 4 cyl with 4x4, you want the power of at least a 6 cyl.
I would suggest getting 2005 or newer. Go ahead and look at dealer lots for used trucks. You may pay premium price, but they also check them over and make sure that they're worth the premium price. You want to find a truck with LESS than 100K miles. And at 2005 or newer, it should be a lot less. Most trucks will have power windows, etc. Having extended cab and 4x4 will raise cost of truck quite a bit.
The cost of your truck will depend MOSTLY upon mileage. So the less mileage, the higher the price.
I suggest looking at dealers because I would NOT want to try and skimp on things when buying a truck. I'd want to make sure that it's in the best condition possible, to make sure that it won't need extra repairs soon. Plus dealers will usually give a better warranty to their prime used trucks.
This is my obvious own opinion. YOu can get good deals as old as 2000, and with 100K miles or more on it. But I think it's better to make sure the truck is nearly new to get best deal. Expect to pay in mid to high teens for the truck. $14K to 18K.
But if you can find others that allow fluctuations in your demands, such as higher mileage, and slightly older, then you can expect to pay closer to $7K to 10K for good trucks. If you want it for show, spend the extra $$. For work, save the $$.
